HOW ARE TEETH REPLACED?

Many of us are used to traditional dental bridges and dentures. Although both methods provide a functional solution, they also present considerable disadvantages.

As the name itself implies, a bridge bridges a gap between teeth. And like a bridge, it thus requires two solid support pillars. Two healthy and fully functional teeth need to be sacrificed to make these bridge pillars. Because they need to be abraded, they are irrecoverably destroyed and can never fulfil their original function.

A complete denture has many drawbacks as well. Over time, the denture holds in place with more and more difficulties. In some cases, this is due to the gradual deterioration of bone tissue under the prosthesis, in others, it is the result of mucosal hypertrophy under the prosthesis. If the denture is loose, the wearer cannot chew any food properly, which may ultimately lead to severe gastrointestinal disorders. A complete denture often prevents the wearer from socialising.

HOW LONG WILL THE IMPLANTS LAST?

To a certain extent, it depends on you. You will be instructed by your dentist on the necessity of proper and regular oral hygiene. Good hygienic conditions in the oral cavity are an absolute must!

Any inflammatory process in the periodontium may result in the implant expulsion. A dental implant in an inflamed mouth could cause more harm than good. Your dentist wants to prolong the life of your dental implant as much as you do. The dentist will therefore invite your for regular check-ups. Always follow your dentist's instructions!

When you take due care of your implants, they are likely to serve you until the end of your life. If you are interested in figures, 85-99% of all implants implanted around the world fulfil their function without any problems for many years.

WHY CHOOSE IMPLADENT?

Impladent is one of the best documented systems in oral implantology. The high success rate of the system is verified by more than a decade of its use in clinical practice. IMPLADENT implants are made by LASAK, a Czech company, from ISO compliant commercially pure titanium imported from the United States. The production lines are equipped with state-of-the-art machining technology developed in Switzerland especially for dental implant manufacture. This allows to produce maximum precision parts.

Thanks to extensive experience obtained through bone tissue regeneration research, LASAK has developed its own technology of surface finishes of the IMPLADENT dental implants. The implants have a bioactive surface patented under the name STI-Bio. This unique surface substantially accelerates the formation of new bone tissue on the implant surface and reduces the healing time to 6 weeks. Under favourable conditions, STI-Bio bioactive implants may be loaded immediately after insertion. Clinical studies evaluating the experience with new IMPLADENT implants indicate the healing success rate of 98.8%. With such success rate, IMPLADENT rightfully ranks among the world's top implant systems.

SHOULD YOU BE AFRAID OF PAIN?

Definitely not. We are fully confident in this respect. The insertion of the implant into the jawbone is not a complicated procedure for a trained dental surgeon. It is performed in a normal dental office environment under local anaesthesia. The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes. Our patients claim that their experience with implant insertion was similar to tooth extraction.

HOW DO IMPLADENT IMPLANTS WORK?

A dental implant is an artificial replacement of the tooth root. It is inserted into the jawbone and in combination with the pillar, it forms the foundation for the fixation of a new tooth. This way, an artificial tooth is anchored in a similar way as a healthy tooth. It is also the only way of providing the implant with the strength and functionality comparable to the original tooth.

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?

Firstly, the dental surgeon inserts an implant in the shape of a small screw into your jawbone. As soon as the implant heals in the following period of 6 to 12 weeks, a second component, i.e. a pillar, is affixed to implant. The pillar has a cylindrical shape and it protrudes from the gum. An artificial ceramic tooth is then easily connected to the pillar. The artificial tooth is indiscernible from original teeth and it provides a firm bite.

TO WHOM DO WE RECOMMEND DENTAL IMPLANTS?

We recommend implants to everyone. They offer an ideal solution for filling small or large gaps between teeth, as well as for complementing a shortened dental arch. We also recommend implants to people with no teeth. The dental surgeon always decides on the specific use based on the overall medical condition of the patient.
